OOTD: Jump - Suit Up!

As I've mentioned in a previous post, my future father in law has been over visiting from the USA and it's his last weekend in England, so we decided to get the whole family together for a meal out.

The Toby Carvery is a good choice for large families with many different tastes and portion sizes. You basically pay for a plate, pile it up with your choice of potatoes, vegetables etc and get a choice of four meats to choose from.
HUGE YORKSHIRE PUDDINGS!

If you've never had one, I recommend you try one at least once!
They are worth the money!

So there was myself & the fiancé, The future father in law, his wife and her grand daughter, the future brother in law, his fiancée and their 3 children. So there was quite a few of us! (Saying that there is usually more too!)

We all had our meal, and most of us had ice cream for dessert. There was lots of colouring and talking and banter, a few tears from some squashed fingers and rescuing several crayons from our nephew's 2 little teeth!

All in all a nice evening with family and a great way to end the last few days of their trip.

What I Wore: Blue and cream sketch check jumpsuit, Silver colour memory bracelet, 3 strand half braid snake chain necklace, Black quilt and stud cross body bag- All Warehouse, Shoes - Miss Selfridge (My favourites as you should know by now!) White 3/4 sleeve cardigan - H&M, Pink knot & watch face Earrings - Handmade by myself.

The back has this cool 'slashed' detail to it.
I did my make up with 3 different shades of a shimmering smoke bronze colour, with black smokey smudge eyeliner and black mascara.
I kept my lips plain with just some colourless berry lip balm, and swept a fair colour bronzer over my T-zone and apples of my cheeks.

(LOL I just noticed the flash on my fiance's camera has wiped out my eyebrows and it looks like I haven't got any! I assure you I do, but it does look funny!!!)

For my hair, I washed it, parted it in the centre and let it air dry for about 45 minutes. I then dried off the rest on a low setting with a hair dryer and spritzed over a heat defence spray.

I used Vidal Sassoon Shine Envy 38mm barrell curling tongs and curled my entire head with each 2 inch section facing back away from my face. I smoothed each section prior to curling with my Spornette smoothing brush (using the handle to section neatly).

I let each section just fall and cool down before running my fingers loosely through my hair to blend and break up each section, I didn't use hair spray because I wanted a soft loose curl.

My hair is naturally wavy so I know my hair holds waves and curls really well. If your hair is naturally straight or fly away and fine it would be good to use a light hold hairspray and let it set for a few minutes BEFORE running your fingers through.

If your hair is very long or thick and heavy, the curls will drop much faster and you may wish to pin each section up and spray, leave for 15 minutes whilst you're doing your make up, then take each section down before running your fingers through.

What would you wear out for a family meal?

NB: There was no blog post yesterday because I found out my friend's mum died and I was obviously far too upset to want to write anything.
The topic I had intended to write about will be moved into next week.
Thank you for understanding.
